Fundamentals

With the work "The Yellow Emperor" the most important basic work of the Traditional Chinese Medicine was created approx. 2600 B.C.. In those times, medical care was not self-evident, so methods were developed to keep people healthy and well.

This body of knowledge deals in detail with all physical, psychological, diagnostic and therapeutic issues that are important in the context of maintaining health, disease and healing of man.

According to the Chinese view, a person is healthy when his energy (Qi) can flow freely, and he becomes ill when the flow of energy is blocked. Whether this happens depends on many factors. Balanced diet, exercise, emotional balance, environmental factors all play a role, affect physical/mental health. In the Chinese model, these factors, i.e. everything that makes up a human body, are expressed in energy. Traditional Chinese Medicine aims to bring these energies into balance.

Based on this fundamental work, various methods have developed that correspond to the Chinese model of energy flow and all pursue the same goal.
These include Acupuncture, Acupressure, Tuina massage, Qi Gong and Shiatsu.
